Frequently Asked Questions
It is my first time being waxed, any suggestions?
No caffeine for 12 hours prior to appointment. Take 2-3 ibuprofen. Drink a lot
of water to stay hydrated. Apply Numb It 30-45 min. prior to getting
waxed to ease your pain by 50-90%. Grow hair out to 1/2 of an inch. Be at least
1 week from your menstrual cycle. Breath and relax you will be in good hands!
What are the benefits of waxing? Waxing damages the hair follicle so that after
about the 5th wax you will notice that you will have much less new growth and it
will be much finer.
How often do I need to wax?
You need to wax every 4 weeks. Your skin will become accustomed to the waxing
and you will have less new growth. After a body part has been waxed every 4
weeks for about 6 months then the skin should be hair free till the last week
when it grows in to be waxed.
After my first wax I had new growth after only a week, why?
It will take 4 to 6 sessions for the hair to all reach the same growing stage so
you will feel stubble sooner when you first start waxing.
Will I break out?
Some people are more prone to breakouts than others particularly on the lip,
bikini area, and the back. It is important for you to do your home care and plan
your sessions for every 4 weeks so your skin will get used to the waxing and
therefore be less likely to get irritations. Just remember exfoliate, hydrate
and use PFB Vanish everyday for best results.
Is there any reason I should not wax?
You should not wax if you are taking blood thinners, oral or topical acne
medications or using over the counter acne medication. Skin that is being
treated with Retin A, Renova or other strong exfoliants should avoid waxing.
What if I tan?
You should avoid waxing for 24 hours if you have tanned, and never tan freshly
waxed skin. The wax will remove your mystic tan so it's best to get one after
you waxed.
What will I need to do for home care?
To get your best results from waxing you need to purchase Vanish PFB + Chromabright use twice
a day every day. You will need a Loofa Mitt. Use this to scrub your waxed areas,
(of the body not the face) every day to keep the skin exfoliated. If you still
get ingrowns you should also use Tea Tree Oil on the infected area. Stay
hydrated and drink lots of water.
